Getting Ready for SK

Back in September I had this idea of researching and pursuing teaching English as a foreign language as a way to travel the world and see thing's I otherwise may never have seen in my life. Since teaching is something that I want to pursue anyway, this is a perfect fit for me!! After comparing all the TEFL cert's and countries you can go to I decided to take an online certification from ITTT and to prepare for South Korea!

I used DavesESLCafe.com as a major resource from start to finish with this process! It has been so helpful in figuring out just how to get started and what the next steps are. So I put my resume together, posted it up and low and behold within a few days I had about 15 recruiters asking me for my photo and resume to help me find a job! I ended up with 2 options in October one for a job that began in November and one that began in March, I selected the March one based on the fact that it was a public school. I interviewed with the school's director and was accepted for the job! Now it was just a waiting game for that pesky FBI criminal records check to come back and the Visa process to begin! After 9 weeks, my CRC arrived, i shipped that along with all my other papers to SK (for a total of $79) to find that the person at the school I interviewed for has decided to stay!! EEK! So the recruiting agency has once again taken all my request into consideration and began finding me another position. After only 2 days they have come up with one. It looks great to me, a smaller city (of about 700,000 people) about 2 hours south of Seoul. Tonight I have my interview, fingers crossed I get the job!!

If the school director select's me, then within a few days I should know when I will depart from Michigan and begin the 22 hour flight to South Korea.
